Description
The event brought together innovative British entrepreneurs, researchers, investors and those with experience of cutting-edge technology transforming their lives.Highlights of the event for me are as follows:
(1) Meeting Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, he shook each Multiverse apprentice hand and spoke with all of us about our experiences with AI. He asked why we chose to enroll on the Multiverse AI for Business Value apprenticeship. I mentioned that initially I was resistant to AI especially in my Professional Services role as Project Manager at the University but by challenging myself and enrolling on the apprenticeship I can see now the multiple benefits of using LLMs and embedding CoPilot in my workflows. I also discussed the ethical considerations when applying AI to tasks. Sir Keir Starmer mentioned how AI is allowing us to be 'more human' by taking away the mundane tasks to do those more higher level interactions with key stakeholders and colleagues. https://images.app.goo.gl/QHLm8jJrYF8o1io48
(2) Listening to Tilly Lockey's speech during the reception. Tilly is a double amputee due to contracting Meningitis as a 10 year old child. She is only 19 and confidently showed what technology can do by providing her advanced prosthetic bionic lower arms and hands. Her talk was both moving and inspirational. Also, she emphasised the fact that she wouldn't be stood there alive today if her parents hadn't listened to their intuition and took her to hospital. This was both a very human story but how technology is greatly enhancing Tilly's life and her mission to get these advanced prosthetics adopted as the first option for NHS patients. https://www.gettyimages.co.uk/detail/news-photo/double-amputee-tilly-lockey-speaks-during-a-reception-for-news-photo/2218940843
(3) Meeting Hammad Jeilani from the company Apian at the stands in the garden. This is a company that is transforming healthcare logistics using the power of drones. As someone who has used Earth Observation and GIS technology in my own work I could see straightaway the huge time saving benefits this company is achieving in the healthcare sector and how this can massively improve patient outcomes.
