My research focuses on the development of alternative cementitious binders aimed at reducing carbon dioxide emissions in the construction industry. In particular, I am interested in magnesium silicate hydrates (MSH), an emerging class of sustainable binders with the potential to significantly lower the carbon footprint while delivering comparable mechanical performance to traditional materials. My current work involves exploring the suitability of MSH binders for reinforced concrete applications, with a particular emphasis on their long-term durability under carbonation.
