Biography

Bipasha Choudhury M.B.Ch.B., Ph.D (medical education)

I graduated with a degree in medical sciences from the University of St. Andrews before graduating with a medical degree from the University of Manchester in 2003. I then worked in a variety of hospitals in the Northwest in acute medicine, colorectal surgery and orthopaedics. I moved into teaching 20 years ago and completed my PhD in 2017 (in medical education on the anatomical student experience).

I am a Reader in Anatomy and teach topographical anatomy to medical, dental, science and allied health professional students. I am a persons designated under the Human Tissues Act 2004. I am deputy programme director and lead for assessments for the post graduate certificate in medical and health education. 

I am the meetings secretary for the British Association of Clinical Anatomists (BACA). I am the BACA representative for both the Anatomical Society and the Anatomy Associations Advisory Committee. My first  children's anatomy book was published in September 2017 and since then I have authored several more.

Pedagogy

I am on the board of reviewers for Anatomical Sciences Education (a Q1 journal).

I am a founding member of the northwest anatomy cup, alongside Dr. Alistair Bond, an interprofessional event for students to network with peers from other institutions and gain long lasting professional connections and friendships. Six institutions across the northwest will be taking part in our inaugural event early next year.
