Overview

My background is perinatal psychology - my research has covered both maternity care and perinatal mental illness. My PhD focused on suicidal thoughts and behaviour during the perinatal period.

On the BSc Psychology programme, I lead the 3rd year Communication in Healthcare unit and co-lead the 3rd year Qualitative Research Methods in Applied Contexts unit.

I also deliver teaching on the BMidwif and MMidwif programmes.

I am currently a Project Manager at Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust managing the OPAL study which is trialling an online parenting programme for mothers accessing perinatal community mental health care.
