Biography

Mario joined Manchester in September 2009 as Lecturer in Industrial Economics. He is a Principal Fellow of AdvanceHE.

He teaches Microeconomics 3 and Lessons from behavioural Science.  

Mario currently serves as Deputy Head of the School of Social Sciences and INTO Link Tutor for the Faculty of Humanities.

Research interests

Mario's research interests lie generally in applied microeconomic theory and industrial organization.
In no particular order, specific areas are:
(1) industrial organization of hospitals and the pharmaceutical market
(2) evolutionary games and applications with a particular interest in the role of social norms and reciprocity
(3) economics of crime with a particular interest of tax evasion
(4) variuos aspects of the sholarship of teaching and learning with a particular interest on the evaluation of intiatives that explore staff/student partnership.

Opportunities

I am keen to supervise students interested in any aspect of applied microeconomic theory.
