Overview

PhD Candidate in Business & Management with a research focus on Microfoundations of Responsible Management.

Currently in the third year of my PhD program at Alliance Manchester Business School. My research focuses on understanding how leaders in the clothing industry navigate the integration of ethicality, social responsibility, and environmental sustainability with management imperatives (e.g., profit motive). Also exploring how individual information processing preference, human agency, and ethical, socially responsible, and environmental values interact with the relationship. Employing a direct cognitive approach through experimental studies using the policy-capturing method, I aim to uncover the cognitive mechanisms at play in this balancing act.

Throughout this journey, I have developed a deep understanding of protocols to ensure rigor and relevance in selecting construct measurements, especially when evaluating candidate variables based on theoretical and psychometric rationales for measuring human agency, information processing styles, and individual attitudes toward ethicality, social responsibility, and environmental sustainability.

Prior to starting my PhD, I contributed to several articles and case studies in Scopus-indexed journals on issues such as sustainability practices and process innovation, during my four-year tenure as a lecturer at North South University, Bangladesh. My knowledge of business models and sustainability management in entrepreneurial firms was honed during my MSc studies at the University of Nottingham.
