Saied is a Research Fellow and Statistician at the National Confidential Inquiry into Suicide and Safety in Mental Health (NCISH) - a UK-wide research programme of suicide prevention in mental health services.
Saied has worked at the Centre for Mental Health and Safety since 2012. He previously worked as a Statistician at the European Action on Anticoagulation in the University of Manchester, investigating the safe and effective administration of warfarin in treating patients with various blood disorders.
His research interests include mental health epidemiology, statistical programming and data management, suicide and homicide prevention.
Saied is a lecturer at the University on the 'Research Methods' modules for the MSc in Forensic Psychology and Mental Health
