Abstract

In 239 British children and adolescents with HAE, only 2% suffered one or more attacks a month. Disease was most prominent in adolescent females, who were 4-5-times more likely to suffer from skin swellings and abdominal pain, and 7-times more likely to take time off school than girls under 12 years old, highlighting that HAE disproportionately impacts adolescent girl’s quality of life and education.
