Abstract

This work-in-progress paper explores how the concept of boundary objects can improve the effectiveness of collaborative decision support in product selection, facilitating the comprehension of different perspectives by multiple stakeholders. We conceptualize 3D visual representations of product properties and business performance data as boundary objects. We explore the principles of structuring visual representations of product properties for supporting product selection decisions. This is done through distributed information analysis of requirements of cross-functional stakeholders.
