Abstract
This report accompanies the 'Crafting Connections: a heritage for wellbeing toolkit' published in 2024 and freely available to download on the Manchester Histories website. The project was a partnership between Creative Manchester at the University of Manchester, alongside the heritage charity Manchester Histories and their partners at Archives+. This project contributed to Greater Manchester's Creative Health and Healthy Ageing policy priorities, which aim to tackle the regions stark health inequalities.
The report explores the role of heritage in health and wellbeing interventions, the 'five ways to wellbeing' as as framework for achieving better health, and outlines how the toolkit used sources about the past past to enhance people's skills and connections in the present.
