Overview

I am a Research Associate specialising in qualitative research and ethnographic methods. I work across multiple projects with the centre for Social Care and Society based in the Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health. I have represented the centre at divisional level and now co-chair Methods and Research in Service Settings seminars.

I collaborate with university researchers, health and social care professionals, third sector organisations and internationally with colleagues across South Asia on a Global Challenges Research Fund programme, the 'South Asia Self-Harm Initiative'.

My current research includes:

  • Leading a systematic review of the prevalence, risk factors, means and prevention of suicidal hanging in India
  • Building research capacity in social care and mental health
  • Exclusion from services during a mental health crisis
  • Support for litigants in person attending court without legal representation

Past research includes:

  • Ethnographic research on the prevention of drunkenness and violence in the UK night-time economy

Biography

I hold a Bachelor's in Business Management and Human Resources (2013), a Master's in Politics, Philosophy and Management (2016) and a PhD in Organisation Studies (2022).
