BSc Chemistry and MSc Inorganic Chemistry:  University of Bucharest. 

PhD Coordination Chemistry :  Institute of Physical Chemistry of the Romanian Academy. 

Postdoctoral studies at ICMCB Bordeaux in France (molecular magnetism) and The University of Manchester, UK  (3d/4f  chemistry, magnetism and EPR).

EC Marie Curie Individual Fellowship at the University of Warwick, UK (bio-inspired supramolecular chemistry).

Deutcher Akademischer Austausch Dienst Fellowship at the University of Heidelberg, Germany (bio-inorganic chemistry).

Leverhulme Trust Research Fellowship at the University of Manchester (Hyscore spectroscopy of actinide complexes).

Recipient of the Romanian Academy 'Ilie Murgulescu' Prize for Chemistry 2005 and The Royal Society of Chemistry Horizon Prize 2020.
