Biography

LL.B. 2014 (Southwest University of Political Science and Law, Chongqing, China), MPhil 2017 (University of Macau), Ph.D. 2022 (University of Hong Kong).

I joined the University of Manchester as a lecturer in law in May 2024. I was previously a post-doctoral researcher at the School of Law at the City University of Hong Kong from September 2022 to April 2024.

As a public lawyer, my research interests lie in the following areas: constitutional review, constitutional orders of authoritarian and hybrid regimes, law and politics, legislative studies, judicial review, administrative rule-making, and comparative public law.

Teaching

I primarily teach constitutional law and administrative law.

Research interests

My research interests fall in the field of public law. I am particularly interested in the following topics in constitutional law and administrative law:

  • Constitutional review and “recording and review” in China
  • Constitutional review and judicial review in hybrid regimes
  • Proportionality
  • Legislatures and legislative process in non-democratic regimes;
  • Administrative rule-making
