Description

In the Space Systems Research Group we are involved in the lifecycle design of space systems from fundamental research and technology development to mission design, operations, and disposal. Our expertise encompasses the range of space environments, from hypersonic flight and re-entry, through Earth orbit, to interplanetary travel and robotic operations.

In our modern society, space systems have become increasingly universal, providing now essential services such as satellite navigation and aerial imagery. Global development, sustainability, and our understanding of the universe have also been positively impacted by space-based systems and orbital services.

We support these diverse and valuable applications through the development of new technologies, design methods, and operational concepts for space-based systems and vehicles. We work with industrial partners, academic colleagues, international and governmental organisations, and SMEs towards these goals.
