Abstract

We discuss the relationships between the André-Oort, André-Pink-Zannier, and Mordell-Lang conjectures for Shimura varieties. We then combine the latter with the geometric Zilber-Pink conjecture to obtain some new results on unlikely
intersections in Shimura varieties
